There is nothing more magical than seeing an idea come to life. It all started with a shell sitting on my book shelf that initially inspired the theme, The World is Our Oyster.
This vision was soon brought to life by an amazing team of vendors working together to create this glamorous styled shoot. By combining all of our talents, dreaming large and focusing on even the finest details, we have achieved something incredible.

Matt & Kat Wedding Videography This extremely talented couple work together in perfect harmony and who are as adorable as their rhyming names. The behind the scenes video beautifully captured the intricacy of each design element while their flawless editing breathed life into every moment caught on film. Matt & Kat are true professionals and exceptional artists.
Whalesbone Oyster House famous for their exceptionally fresh certified sustainable seafood. This location is considered one of Ottawa’s top restaurants. What is really exciting is that they also offer catering … your dream location and their awesome food (yum)! This vibrant, yet cozy venue created a powerful contrast between rustic and glamour that was perfect for this feature.
Jack Loves Mary Photography Owner and exceptional photographer Kaja is the lead creative behind all of the feature photos from this shoot. She is fun, professional, passionate and effortlessly cool. Kaja has the most amazing eye, capturing even the simplest moment in its purest form elevating the importance and meaning visually. Her style of photography becomes an intimate, captivating expression that is always memorable. Kamara is another talented photographer at Jack Loves Mary that demonstrates a natural ease behind the lens. During this shoot, she assisted Kaja and also took a series of stunning behind the scenes photos (as seen here).
La Fabère was responsible for the incredible one of a kind wedding stationery. Christine, the designer, developed each subtle and gorgeous detail ensuring every element flowed perfectly from one piece to the next. Her handmade touches brilliantly added an old world charm to a very contemporary look. Her breathtaking work can only be defined as art.
Autumn's Fine Flowers is the cutest flower shop in Carp. Owner Lindsey's delicately crafted floral designs produced a softness while brimming with lush blooms. The neutral colour scheme and her attention to even the most delicate detail elevated each exquisite bouquet, centerpiece, and boutonniere to the next level.
Paulished Confections takes the cake (pun totally intended) when it comes to his artistry and exceptional taste. Paul’s amazing creativity is definitely his forte. He really knows how to bake a masterpiece, but it is his meticulous craftsmanship that makes every one of his cakes simultaneously mesmerizing and delicious. Swoon.
Copious Fashions owner and designer Carissa, first introduced these gown designs when she opened her sketch book, page after page of some of the most spectacular concepts. I knew this shoot was the perfect opportunity the bring a fresh perspective and break with traditional expectations. Each gown, uniquely its own, every luxurious detail was considered from the smallest heart button to the intricate beading. She blew me away, and now has me lusting for a personal wardrobe created by Copious!
The Cats Meow Spa is beautifully decorated and located in Little Italy, Caitlin and her team took the time to truly understand the concept of The World is Our Oyster. On the day of the shoot it was inspiring to witness how they thoughtfully enhanced each model’s natural beauty. Make up was expertly applied to create that sought after bridal glow, and hair was masterfully styled so each woman maintained their own unique chic, yet timeless look..
AMTI (Angie’s Models & Talent Inc) provided us with three gorgeous young women, Emily, Andree-Anne, and Helena-Alexis who were absolutely wonderful to work with. All of these women are as talented as they are beautiful, and their exceptional professionalism impacted the photo shoot in an amazing way. Each models' unique style and grace ensured that every single design element in The World is Our Oyster wedding editorial photo shoot came alive.
Fluid Jewellery designs both inspire and delight me. I am completely in love with the stunning ring we profiled in the photo shoot and adore how the diamond slice perfectly aligned itself with the organic shape of an oyster. Jewellery designer Caelen has created the absolute pièce de résistance of wedding rings.
Raincity Prints based in Vancouver was the perfect fit for this shoot. Their stunning typography prints are literally happiness on paper. For this blog post, Hilary took the time to customize a print with our theme title, finishing it in gold leaf. Perfection.
