Once upon a time, in a coastal town of British Columbia, a beautiful redhead from northern Ontario met a handsome man from the Saskatchewan prairies. It has been said that music can bring people together and I know this to be true, because their love affair first began while dancing in one another’s arms.
Many sonnets, songs, poetry and stories have been written about finding your one true love, and sometimes real life can seem like a charming fairy-tale when two people discover the gift of timeless love.
Destiny or a dream come true, this chance meeting of Bill and Joan in a far off place may have always been written in the stars because more than fifty-seven years later, their love story continues.
At GLOSS, we believe that every love story deserves to be celebrated. Enduring love is most enchanting because the past, present, and future are always intermingling. Inspired by the mystery of that eternal spark, our imagination was captured by the idea of honouring Bill and Joan’s 57th wedding anniversary by exploring aspects of their original nuptials and then recreating some of those elements with an infusion of modern style.
The artistic possibilities were limitless as this couple’s sophisticated flair was well documented within the faded pages of a precious wedding notebook filled with confidential details in the bride-to-be’s own handwriting, and by a collection of gorgeous photographs from engagement to their wedding day in 1959. Joan’s perfectly preserved Chantilly lace veil and the small white leather-bound Bible she carried down the aisle helped connect each of our talented vendors to the romance that always was and always will be.
Bill and Joan's love radiates through the lens … and for a moment we are left breathless as time seems to stand still.
