CORINNE McDONALD FILMS was established five years after owner Corinne found her passion while working as a Cinematographer and Video Editor with Cloud Nine Creative Inc. Starting her own business not only expanded an already impressive resume, but it allowed Corinne to push the boundaries of creativity and become a very sought-after filmmaker. She travels the world for her art, but regardless of where she is located, her forte for telling stories through moving imagery results in extraordinary short films that are breathtaking from start to finish. We were blown away by the final video as well as the "behind the scenes" (above) by Corinne & her second shooter Kevin.

BUU MACARONS is an artisan patisserie that creates delicious hand-crafted little French delicacies. These pastel gluten-free confections have a slightly crispy exterior, a tender chewy interior with a variety of delightful velvety fillings. Macarons are the divas of the patisserie, but owner Elisabeth has definitely discovered the secret of these almond meringue cookies because every sublime moment of indulgence is pure heaven. Embracing the soft yellow and blue palette, the simple touch of each lovely custom-made macaron enclosed in miniature glass domes adds a little panache to this elegant affair.

They are committed to continued education, training, product knowledge and always promote excellence. Our lovely bride has been a client of Alterna for almost two decades, and owner Tony has always ensured that Joan’s wonderful personality and inner beauty are reflected on the outside through innovative cuts and unique colour concepts. For this photoshoot, he added delicate sun-kissed soft bronze and blonde highlights to enhance Joan’s natural hair color and then styled a chic feminine bob to perfectly frame her beautiful face.
BEST LOOK FORWARD INC is owned by Julie Wiktowy who started her career because of a passion to help others look and feel their best, and has built a very impressive portfolio over her years in the beauty industry. Using her own line of quality products, Julie enhanced our Bride’s natural beauty by creating a clean flawless look. MARIO UOMO ITALY has showcased an exquisite selection of tailored European menswear and business casual attire since 1998. Their shop is based in Ottawa, however, time spent with their skilled clothiers always feels like an exclusive global fashion journey. Our Groom’s personal sense of style was reflected by the handsome silhouette of the finely textured plaid charcoal jacket and the pleated wide-legged cuffed pants that were reminiscent of his 1950’s wedding attire. The addition of a few debonair accessories provide the mark of quality, refinement and flair. The pièce de résistance was a gorgeous soft blue Italian silk tie that subtly compliments the cyan blooms sprinkled within the bouquets. Aptly, the colour blue also traditionally symbolizes devotion, inspiration and love.

LA FABERE is the perfect company brand because owner Christine’s maiden name is Lefebvre, which is a variation of LaFabère or Faber, which means artisan and maker in Latin. A brilliant description that truly epitomizes this Ottawa-based designer who has an extensive background in many different aspects of craft, painting, illustration, typography and photography. Bill & Joan’s wedding vows were forever documented on a delightful archival-quality poster that features Christine’s precise watercolour brushstrokes in a clean neutral palette of muted yellow and blue. Texture was added by a couple of paper ribbons carefully sewn in place with exquisite thread selections. A unique customized keepsake to be treasured.
JACK LOVES MARY PHOTOGRAPHY possess an amazing talent for profound photojournalism. The dream team Kaja & Kamara seamlessly portray the essence of an event by capturing fleeting moments of expression or by framing simple, but meaningful details. Their love of love is truly emphasized by each exquisite image of this real-life couple celebrating their 57th wedding anniversary. Ironically, the namesake of this photography company was inspired by the amazing love story of the lead photographer Kaja’s very own grandparents, Jack and Mary Caddick.
THE DARK HORSE offers an intriguing combination of antiques, home décor and original Canadian art. Founder Lianne Megarry embarked on a real-life adventure when she opened her clean, brightly lit shop in the historic olde Sunderland Fire Hall. This smartly laid out, beautifully stocked boutique is filled with period pieces, heirlooms, fine china, elusive collectibles and a constantly changing roster of artist creations. They provided our romantic Victorian-era parlour settee with carved rosewood and heavenly angel-patterned upholstery so our two lovebirds could hold hands as they reflected on their wedding day and married life together.
GLOSS EVENTS & DECOR finds inspiration ever-changing, but the love of family tends to be a common thread that runs through many of our designs and subjects because they continue to inspire time and time again. This very special photoshoot honours the miracle of those invisible ties to our loved ones, and recreating meaningful elements while applying current trends was a fun challenge. We didn’t even mind the overcast day because the opaque light from the sky seemed to add drama to the ambiance of our celebration of ‘Timeless Love’. We are so thankful for all of the participating vendors that helped us bring this vision to life.
I absolutely adore weddings because day-to-day life rarely allows us the time or space to pay tribute to love in a way it deserves, and so this is the reason I wanted to honour the lasting marriage of a very special couple … my grandparents (fondly known as Gido and Mamere).
