Once upon a time, my oldest daughter Harper dreamed that her 4th birthday would be a princess party!
I absolutely love a good theme and whenever it includes a magical element then I’m truly a captive designer (and Mom) … so I was ready to deliver and my imagination began to race.
I quickly reached out to the one & only real-life princess I know, my cousin Abbey. She informed me that Belle could be available for this special day and from there the concept of a ‘Beauty & the Beast’ celebration grew.
Finding the perfect venue was my first big challenge, I looked at everywhere that had any royal flair from tea rooms to the Chateau Laurier. Then it dawned on me, there was an amazing party room in the back of the salon we take our kids to for their adorable hairstyles. Sure enough Chiquicuts proved to be the perfect setting, and as a wonderful bonus they were already used to excited, screaming, joyful children!
A charming mirror invitation was designed with royal colours, fonts and images printed on beautiful paper that promised every little princess or prince a dream come true.
Enchanted by the tale as old as time, this party had to be just for kids! I found elegant child-sized Chiavari chairs, perfect miniature palace-worthy banquet tables and a wonderful collection of Beauty & the Beast inspired décor to enhance the festivities. It truly was a delightful way to celebrate love and friendship.
The main event was captivating story time and songs by Belle followed by hair, makeup and tons of royal sugar! The birthday girl wore a custom-made gold ball gown as she was crowned 'Princess for the Day', and each guest was given a Belle dress or sword that doubled as a regal costume and a ceremonial favour.
I couldn't have asked for more fun as we embarked on this storybook adventure together, but the very best part was knowing (by the huge smile on my little girl's face) that this was a day that she will never forget.
